Introduction
ENTRECOMP

We live in a rapidly changing society where it is essential that everyone has the capacity to act upon opportunities and ideas, to work with others, to manage dynamic careers and shape the future for the common good. To achieve these goals we need people, teams and organisations with an entrepreneurial mindset, in every aspect of life. The European Comission has developed EntreComp (European Entrepreneurship Competence Framework) as a reference framework to explain what is meant by an entrepreneurial mindset. EntreComp offers a comprehensive description of the knowledge, skills and attitudes that people need to be entrepreneurial and create financial, cultural or social value for others. EntreComp identifies 15 competences grouped in 3 areas: IDEAS AND OPPORTUNITIES: Spotting opportunities, creativity, vision, valuing ideas, ethical and sustainable thinking. RESOURCES: Self-awareness and self-efficacy, motivation and perseverance, mobilizing resources, financial and economic literacy, mobilizing others. INTO ACTION: Taking the initiative, planning and management, coping with risk, working with others, and learning through experience.

ACADEMY

The aim of the project is to train students (aged 12-14 years) in entrepreneurship following the EntreComp framework. The students are presented a team project (3-5 students) as a challenge. They are responsible for choosing the challenge they want to overcome (identifying opportunities is part of their training!). They will be able to use any technology they want with only one limitation: they have to work in the classroom. For example, a team can be challenged to solve umbrella storage in the classroom, another team can be challenged to make cleaning the classroom easier, changing the decoration, etc. Our project includes several visits to the schools where we will show them new technologies and work methodologies (creativity, oral communication, biomimetics), as well as visits to the MediaLab to participate in workshops (design thinking, mobile app design) and talks. Finally, all the shortlisted teams will participate in a festival where they will be able to showcase how they solved each challenge.
